Diaconate Ordination of Frank Trias CP

St Patrick’s Province welcomed a new deacon on Saturday 13 December when Archbishop Diarmuid Martin ordained Frank Trias CP to the diaconate in the Church of St Paul of the Cross, Mount Argus, Dublin. In his homily, Archbishop Martin said: ‘In this ceremony of ordination, when I will consign the book of the Gospels to Frank, the liturgical text stresses how the minister must interiorise the Gospel, with these words: “Believe what you read, teach what you believe and practice what you teach”.  Witness means total identification with Jesus.  Evangelization can only be done by those who are evangelized, who allow the name, message and love first to change themselves, who allow Jesus to take ownership of the lives. “Believe what you read, teach what you believe and practice what you teach” is a mandate to live a life of integrity and coherence with the Gospel.’ (The full text of Archbishop Martin’s homily can be found here.)

The new deacon, Father Frank, will remain at Mount Argus until Christmas, after which he will visit his family in Glasgow and then return to London to complete his studies at Heythrop College.
